Stoves, stoves, which were so popular at the beginning of the last century, today are again in demand, because they are ideal for heating cottages. A characteristic feature of the burzhuek is that they are made entirely of metal. And most importantly their dignity (besides the fact that the stoves are heated up very quickly in the room) lies in the fact that this type of stove can be made quite simply and quickly by yourself. There are many ways to make a stove-stove, and the most affordable of them we consider in this article. You will learn how to make a gas stove from a gas cylinder and from metal pipes and cylinders yourself.
How to make a gas stove from the gas cylinder
The advantage of this method lies in its simplicity, because finding a used gas cylinder is not at all difficult, and the process of manufacturing the stove from it happens fairly quickly. So, first we need to determine that there is no gas left in the cylinder, after which we proceed to the treatment of the cylinder: we remove the valve and the metal rim from above, and it is not necessary to unscrew the valve, but you can simply knock it out.
Next, we make the door - and here we will fit the doors of any old stove. Make a frame from the corner, after which you need to fill the balloon with water (to checktightness) and cut a hole that fits the size of the door found. Now the turn has come for the welding work: by means of welding we install the frame for the door, and then we drill the holes for the bolts and bolt the door itself. Next, install the grill at the bottom of our stove: to do this, you first need to cut a hole, and then weld the grill to the bottom, using a cast iron electrode.
By the way, do not discard the cut pieces, because of them we will make an air supply regulator, that is, a flap, and an ash collector. However, for this you may need other metal sheets. At the same time, the sheet of the ash collection should be welded sufficiently firmly and without any holes. Next, a damper is installed, with which it will be possible not only to regulate the flow of air in the stove, but also to remove the accumulated ash.
Now it remains to weld the legs and make the chimney, and it should be located on the reverse side of the door.The chimney is best done in a broken or curved shape for maximum heat transfer. That's it, our stove-stove is completely ready! Its advantages include high efficiency and heat transfer, as well as the complete absence of smoke. At the same time the valve allows you to fully control the combustion process.
Potbelly stove with the hands of metal pipes
Another extremely simple method of making a stove, which, nevertheless, allows you to make a very high-quality heating in a small room.
So, we need a metal cylinder with a diameter of about 40 cm (maybe a little less or more) and a height of about 70 cm (also plus or minus 10 cm). In this case, it is desirable to select or make a cylinder with thick walls (1 cm or more), since it is necessary to ensure complete combustion of the fuel inside. Therefore, an ordinary iron barrel is not always suitable for these purposes, however, it also has its advantages (we describe them further).
After the cylinder is found or made, we weld a pipe with a diameter of 10 or 15 cm to the top of the cylinder - it will be needed for thrust. Now we make a hole in the backchimney. For him, we select a pipe about the same diameter as for the draft. It, too, as in the previous version, can be made curved.
But then you need to make a round metal plate or sheet on the diameter of the cylinder. And here it is just good to use an iron barrel (if its walls are not too thin), since the barrels already have metal lids. Note that you should not make the cylinder neither too big nor too small, because in the first case it will take a lot of time to heat the room. And in the second case, there will not be enough space in the stove for normal burning of the fuel and, most likely, the room will smoke.
Then we select a suitable door with hinges and install it (the installation process is similar to the one described in the previous version with a gas cylinder): cut a hole, weld the hinges and install the door on them. By the way, the iron sheet with which the stove is covered from above is also better to weld - so the smoke will come out only through the chimney. That's all - our stove is ready. Its advantages include ease of manufacture and unpretentiousness, since it can serve you for a very long time. Among the shortcomings we single out the impossibility of controlling the charge, in contrast to the stove from the gas cylinder, where there was a damper.However, for a small room such a stove is almost ideal.
Other options for making burger
The remaining methods of manufacturing these stoves are more complex, so we restrict ourselves to a general description and recommendations. The first option is when the interior of the stove is divided into three parts using metal sheets or plates. WhereinSheets or even pipes must be welded vertically on both sides so that the lower third remains free and the wood can touch the bottom. This creates an opportunity for the vertical loading of firewood, thereby significantly saving fuel. Naturally, for vertical loading, it is necessary to provide a removable top cover.
And another option is a rectangular or square stove with legs, and the door is made from the narrow side, if it is a rectangular stove. The chimney is best mounted on top, and from the side opposite the door. And one more remark: in contrast to the walls of small stoves made of cylindrical iron, the walls of rectangular stoves should not be too thick.The best option is 0.5 cm. To adjust the thrust, you can also provide a metal flap.
