To pray to get married
Even in our era of careerism and free relations, the majority is still confident: one of the main tasks of any girl is to get married successfully. This was the mother of the heroine, Kate Winslet, in Titanic, and since then nothing has changed. This topic is especially acute in the run-up to spring, when it seems that everything around is married, and you will stay in the girls until old age. But let's not despair: this is a complicated matter, and one cannot do without prayerful help. What saints are worth resorting to asking about women's happiness, our site toldArchpriest Alexander Ilyashenko, rector of the Moscow Church of the All-Merciful Savior.
“First of all, on any issue and with any request, you can and should appeal to our Lord Jesus Christ, the Most Holy Mother of God, and also to your saint, in honor of whom you were baptized,” he reminded Wday.ru.- You can also ask for support from any saint who has attracted you to something. For example, one of the most revered saints in Russia is Nikolai Udolnik, but for some reason it is believed that he can only be asked for help in traveling or healing from diseases. This is not quite so: any saint communicates any of our prayers to God, whatever they may be. You like him, you know his life and deeds - so go to him for women's happiness, why not. But there are, let's say, experts on this issue. They should be resorted to with a prayer if you want to quickly find a family.
Matron Nikonov was born in 1885 in the village of Sebino, Tula province. Her parents already had four children by that time, and they lived poorly, so her mother, being pregnant, decided to hand over the future baby to the orphanage. However, immediately after this decision, she had a vivid dream. The girl in it appeared as a white bird with a human face and closed eyes and sat on her right arm. Taking the dream for a sign, the God-fearing woman left the child in the family. The daughter was born blind, but the parents loved their “unhappy child” with all their hearts.Later, Matrona showed miracles to the world: she predicted the demise of her godfather, and at the age of 7 she had the gift of healing the sick and the weak. In gratitude, she donated something, and so, being blind herself, she became the main breadwinner for the family. At the age of 17, her legs were also taken away, but she endured any hardship humbly, accepting it as God's mercy. They pray to her for children because she instructed all the girls who came to her for advice to either create a pious family, or go to a monastery, but not to cohabit with a man, not to live in sin. Her prayers, which helped thousands and thousands of people, have great power, she is one of the most eminent ascetics of our time. The relics of the holy Matrona are carefully preserved in the Pokrovsky Monastery in the very center of Moscow, where hundreds of believers daily come from all over Russia.
Peter and Fevronia of Murom
On July 8, Orthodox Christians celebrate the Day of Remembrance of Saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom, or the Day of Family, Love and Loyalty. Nevertheless, little is known about the lives of the saints. According to legend, Prince Peter killed a fiery serpent, but, touching his blood, he fell ill with leprosy, from which only a simple peasant Fevronia could cure him.She deliberately did not treat him fully, which is why he was forced to marry her, but in the end she was able to win his love. The couple had three children. They lived happily ever after and died in one day and hour, as an exception, they were buried in one coffin. Their relics are open to worship in the cathedral church of Holy Trinity Monastery in Murom. You can ask about marriage and pray at the icon of the saints in Moscow. For several years at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Putinki there is a club of Peter and Fevronia of Murom. Every Sunday at 17 o'clock more than a hundred young men and women gather at the church for a prayer service with an akathist to the saint, and then arrange a joint tea party. And already many happy marriages testify to the miracles of sincere prayer, and maybe even such pious gatherings.
Ksenia of Petersburg
The share of Xenia of Petersburg fell many trials and tragic events. The main shock that radically changed her life was the death of her beloved husband, after which the 26-year-old girl chose the hard way of foolishness. She donated her house to one of her acquaintances, dressed in her husband’s clothes, responded only to his name and said that he was alive and Ksenia died. She refused all the benefits and began to help others free of charge. There is a huge amount of evidence that the appeal to the saint helped in many different cases. Since during her lifetime the saint was a symbol of eternal love, today in prayers lonely girls turn to her, who dream of meeting a worthy life partner. Blissful helps to successfully marry girls who deserve it. The best way to appeal is to visit the holy grave and the chapel in her honor at the Smolensk cemetery in St. Petersburg.
Gury, Samon and Aviv
Two friends, Christians Gury and Samon, were captured during the persecutions of Christians under the emperors Diocletian and Maximian in the city of Edessa (Turkey). They were asked to renounce Christ and offer sacrifice to the pagan gods, which they decisively refused. For this they were subjected to terrible tortures, but they all suffered with firmness and prayer. At night, they were taken out of town and beheaded. Their holy bodies were buried by other Christians. Many years later, the last pagan emperor Licinius began new persecutions of Christians. Aviv, the deacon of the Edessa church, who actively propagated the Christian doctrine, himself came to the executioners so that other Christians would not suffer because of him.He was sentenced to be burned and went into the fire with a prayer to the Lord. When the fire went out, his body was intact. The martyr was buried next to the saints Guri and Samon. After the death of the saints, numerous miracles were performed with those who with faith and love called them to their aid. Orthodox Christians consider holy martyrs to be the patrons of marriage, marriage, and happy family life. In Moscow, in the temple of John the Warrior in Babiegorodsky lane, on Yakimanka, there is a chapel of these saints.
Cyril and Maria
These are the parents of St. Sergius of Radonezh, in whose life it is said that during the divine liturgy, even before the birth of a son, the righteous Mary and the worshipers heard the triple exclamation of the baby before reading the holy Gospel. The Monks Kirill and Mary felt the great mercy of God upon themselves and promised to consecrate their child to God. Parents strictly executed all church regulations, helped the poor, always called to their home traveling and tired wanderers. Towards the end of their lives, the righteous Cyril and Mary accepted monasticism in the Khotkovsky Pokrovsky Monastery near Radonezh.Subsequently, they were canonized as parents of the greatest ascetic who themselves gave the world a model of holiness and the Christian dispensation of the family.
- You can appeal to these saints anywhere, even at home. It is not necessary to come to their relics, - Father Alexander notes. - But to tune in to prayer, of course, is simpler in the temple, especially if it is dedicated to this ascetic and his relics or an icon are kept there.
