What is an anchor?

In simple terms, the anchor is the text behind which the link is hidden. The word / words that play the role of the anchor text are called key. Keywords are the most important factor in optimization, affecting the reference ranking.

Let's take a closer look at what anchor is and what types of anchors are.

How to create an anchor?

Anchor is a link text, which is located between the tags that describe the beginning and end of the link <a>, </a>. It is easy to create an anchor, you do not need to know the HTML language, you just need to memorize this form - <a href =" URL of the site"> keyword or words </a>.

Types of anchors

Anchors, depending on the type of writing are divided into diluted and undiluted. In the first case, one keyword is used as the anchor text, in the second, additional text is assumed.

It is also known to divide anchors into high, medium and low frequencies. The high-frequency anchor is 1-2 words, so “buy a watch” is a high-frequency anchor. The mid-frequency anchor is 2-4 words, for example, “buy a watch in Moscow”. Low-frequency anchors contain more than 4 words - “buy watches in Moscow is cheap.”

As a rule, site optimizers try to use all types of anchors to block the maximum number of user requests.
