Decoration, home decor
Surprisingly, it turns out that it is possible to make sufficiently strong elements for jewelry (earrings, pendants, beads) from the leaves, as well as jewelry for various things in the interior.
To do this, you must first prepare the skeleton foliage, removing from it the topmost layer of the skin. This is done as follows:
- In a saucepan, dilute 1 part soda and 4 parts water.
- Put the leaves in the mixture.
- Bring to a boil, reduce heat and “boil” leaves for 20-30 minutes.
- Put the leaves on a flat surface backside up, remove moisture with napkins or a towel.
- Using a toothbrush, carefully remove the top layer of the skin from the leaves. Rinse leaves thoroughly in running water.
As a result, a translucent streaked base remains. It can be used both in this form and stained in solution with the usual food dyes, which are used for dyeing eggs for Easter.
To give these details strength, they are coated with epoxy, which can be bought at an art store. After that, the leaves can be used to create jewelry or to decorate frames, gift wrap, dishes, vases and candlesticks.
